Folklore Bag from One Year Wonders
    on: November 06, 2011, 09:47:19 AM

Sometimes I like to do things the hard way.  Take this bag, for a most recent example: I copied the pattern from the book which I had borrowed from the library.  I didn't take time to copy the instructions. So I started in (3 days before the birthday girl's day) and sorted it out along the way.  Various blogs discuss issues with the pattern.  The publisher posted errata which sadly didn't download properly on my (old) Mac.  Long story short, I got the bag done (in the nick of time) without too much annoyance but a lot of pin pricks to my fingers. I ended up sewing the upper to the bag body right sides facing (which is apparently not how the book says to go about it).  My one complaint is that the magnetic snap attached to the lining seems a bit wimpy because rather than close the bag, it merely pulls the (kind of saggy) lining away from the exterior.  If you have made this bag, does following the original pattern instructions give a different result?  What say you?
