what are these measurements on this pattern?!

    what are these measurements on this pattern?!

    newbie pattern user!! I bought a dress pattern (vogue #8788) I have the pieces cut out and laid on the fabric...but I think I will need to extend the waistline down...I'm tall...there are measurements on the bodice piece...by the waistline...the sizes and a inch and cm measurement...what are they for? and how do I know how far to extend the waistline?

      Maybe you can post a photo of it?  Or check sewing.patternreview.com for that pattern to see if anyone else has answered your question there?
