What to do with hand woven wool?
on: January 09, 2009, 03:51:06 PM
I just started weaving and I am trying to think of patterns for it. The maximum width I can produce is 24 inches. Any ideas?

well the first things i thought of was a shawl or a small blanket. i guess it depends on what the weave is like. Do you want to weave it and then cut it up into something? like a handbag, maybe. congrats on learning to weave!

I made a fabric bucket to hold supplies with the first piece.
I am thinking of taylored handbags maybe to contrast with the rough texture of the fabric. I am not afraid to cut it up. If I mess it up, I can always make more.
Right now I have a lovely piece of 14" by 44" of gray linen in a rough, loose weave.
