Smock Sew-Along--Why No Pin-cushion Betty?

    Smock Sew-Along--Why No Pin-cushion Betty?

Betty, thanks for this.  I loved your videos.

One question:  How come you don't use a wrist or magnetic pin-cushion?  It would drive me nuts if I had to open that little box every time I needed a pin or had to put one back.

The smock would be a great teaching tool because it has so many techniques.

I, too, invested in that binding foot which I learned to hate.  The one foot I recommend would be a rolled hem foot.  I use mine all the time.  It takes a little practice to get it to feed but once you figure out that you have to hold the fabric sort of diagonally as you feed it through the foot, you can go until your bobbin is empty.

Hi! Sorry for the late response... I was working on a Memeorial Weekend yard project that got out of hand!!

I do have several pin cushions that I use and love. I keep the pin box because I teach at a local fabric store and it transports better. When I was making the videos I guess I was in a teach mindset and grabbed that kit.

I don't love my binding foot for everything either but with practice I learned to use it for some projects. I 'd love to get the hem foot... maybe soon!
