Pressing iron

    Pressing iron

If anyone can suggest a good quality pressing iron for a newbie sewer that'd be great.  Mine is about 10 years old, leaks and doesn't get that hot...not exactly doing a super job.  I'm sure this topic has been covered but can't seem to find it.  Thanks for any advice!

I have a rowenta perfect, and I don't think it was worth the $$$.  It does get very hot, and has amazing steam, almost like a garment steamer.  But, sometimes water will mysteriously leak out of it, which shouldn't happen with such an expensive iron!  Also, I wish it were a little heavier, which might be weird, but I think it would be nice for pressing to have a heavier iron.

I just bought a Rowenta Autosteam.  It was a middle of the road Rowenta.  I haven't had any leakage problems with it.  It presses really nicely and has great steam functions.  The reason I went with it instead of the professional grade Rowenta was number 1 the $$$, but number 2 is has a cord retractor.  It is really nice not to have to deal with that cord sticking out all over the place because I can never get it to stay wound around the handle correctly.

I think this is a great iron, but I was using an Ultra-Cheapo before it.  This is the first really nice iron that I've owned.
