Anyone started their doll quilt top yet?!

Great question! I always use 100% cotton machine quilting thread, but I think that as long as you use any 100& cotton you'll be fine.    Can't wait to see your doll quilt!

Yes, got going almost immediately.  I'm ready to do the machine quilting, theoretically.  I have never done stippling, so this should be interesting/fun/hillarious?  I'll let you know how it goes and get some images posted.  Hope to see your work soon, too!

I finished the quilting today. I've only done stippling one other time about 6 years ago so it was good practice.  The only problem is that the imperfections are more noticeable on a small piece!  This has been a great project to practice skills & get quick gratification at the same time.

I did the straight stitching on mine, but I don't have a foot to do the free motion quilting I really want to do it. I need to go looking for a darning foot online for my "vintage" Singer.

This is my quilt all finished.  I drew some hearts freehanded with a disappearing ink marker to be my quilted pattern.  I bound it with some awesome cotton bias tape I found at a thrift store for a quarter.

It was my first time trying quilting, but I think I did pretty well. There are some pointy parts in the stippling, but it still looks awesome

I finished up my doll quilt & just wanted to say thanks again for the opportunity.  It was great to get motivated as well as seeing what other people came up with.  I don't have the finished photo loaded on the computer yet.  My almost 2 y.o. son has been loving playing with the blanket and his baby doll.  I was going to give it to a friend's child but he has staked his claim.  Thanks again & keep up the fun sew-alongs.

This is SO much fun.  Here's my quilt top.  It's my second attempt, ever, at quilting - and I am addicted!





This will be for a friend's daughter's birthday present for her baby dolls.  I have three sons, so it's nice to have friends with daughters to sew these kinds of things for.
