Peanut the Wee Elephant

    Has anyone made this pattern from Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson?  I just can't figure out the first couple of steps.  There aren't any pictures to go with the instructions, and I'm tearing my hair out trying to fiure out how to join the first couple of pieces.  I've never made a stuffed animal before Smiley.  I think a picture of two of the pieces in question being sewn together is all I need.  Help!
