Best Places to Buy Fabric?

Hey Everyone!  I have never been on the message boards but love reading the blog!  Anyway, I was wondering what you think the best places to buy fabric are online?  I live outside of Nashville and have not found a fabric store that I like around here.  If you live around here let me know if there are any places you like best! 

I just love buying fabric (who doesn't) but am wanting to buy nicer fabric than the chain craft stores supply.

Online- apart from SMS of course- I really love equilter.  The fabric selection is amazing and if there is something you're looking for that they don't have, the owners will actually search for you.  I was looking for vintage prints with bicycles on them a few years back for a baby quilt.  I had searched high and low- sent in a request and they found not one but two.  They ship super quick and have a half-yard min (instead of the yard like many places have).

Thank you all so much!  I am definitely going to be bookmarking these places!  I am a grad student so money is obviously tight but I would much rather buy fabric to make purses than buy clothes.  Is their something wrong with that?

Hi folks--

My first order from Sew Mama Sew arrived yesterday.  I am pleased beyond measure with the quality.

With inspiration from Sew Mama Sew, I have been making a number of small projects:  bags and belts and doodads.  What has shocked me in this return to sewing is the cost of the ancillaries, you know, zippers, fasteners and trims.  Fortunately I have a massive stash of buttons which my husband found at a yard sale.  But to make the rest of this economical, I need to start frequenting thrift shops.  In addition to seeming expensive, some of the doodads seem to be of poor quality.  Other ideas??

Frankly I'd rather splurge on gorgeous fabric.  Hats off to Sew Mama Sew!

My mom finally figured out yesterday how I feel with my fabric versus how she feels with clothes   haha. 

Anyway, does anyone know where to buy oil cloth?  I am really wanting to make some durable totes but I cannot find oil cloth anywhere!!  I know it exists (obviously) so I just think I am not looking/searching in the right places.

I've probably bought fabric from everyone, but recently I tried Fabric Shack and got my first order from them today....their prices are wonderful and their sale fabrics aren't just the ones that no one in their right mind would want, but are terrific.
I was very pleased, and while equiter and tennessee quilts both have a wonderful inventory, their prices aren't so wonderful.  I also love Mary Jo's....they finally have an online catalog with pics of their fabrics and their selection of quilting fabrics is pretty remarkable.
