Are there any good sewing podcasts?
on: June 13, 2008, 07:41:50 AM
I love to listen to podcasts. I subscribe to a ton of them but I haven't been able to find a good sewing based podcast. A few of the crafty podcasts throw in sewing here and there, but I haven't found a dedicated show. Can anyone share the name of a good one? =]

OK, I did check out Material Mama. I remember listening in the past. Maybe it was to some of her first podcasts. I wasn't too impressed then, but I enjoyed the last couple episodes and I subscribed.
I have a request for the Sew, Mama, Sew mamas: How 'bout a podcast? I know ya'll have a ton going on, but I would be really interested in in a Sew, Mama, Sew podcast. Maybe a little sewing advise, interviews with those fabulous contributors and designers, pattern reviews, etc.
There seems to be some interest in a sewing podcast, but a bit of a void on iTunes. Just a suggestion from a big SMS fan...

I love craftsanity! It's not always sewing sometimes it's other crafts, but it's always very interesting.

I like Material Mama, Sew Forth Now, and Craftsanity (all crafts, like a pp said). Also, Craftcast is awesome (covers lots of topics). Annie Smith has a quilting podcast which is pretty good, too.

This probably targets a different demographic, but one podcast I see constantly appearing on the Craft magazine blog is
Threadbanger

I am still looking for more sewing podcasts, but I do really look forward to Craftsanity episodes. Thanks so much for the suggestion. Threadbanger is also a good one, but it has video which I have to be at my computer to see, rather than just listen to. However, I do have several episodes saved which I like very much. The girl on Threadbanger helped teach me to knit. =]
I also thought I would bump this to see if any new (or new found) podcasts have appeared lately. Any other suggestions?

I'm glad you asked this, because I love listening to craft podcasts, but wanted some dedicated to just sewing. Thanks

I really like Annie Smith's Quilting Stash podcast, Cast On which is knitting (even though I don't knit that much) and CraftyPod.

Here're a couple I like though I'm not terribly fond of listening to someone describe patterns or fabric that I cannot see. These two often have very fascinating guests and interesting topics.
