Awesome! By: Munchie on 02/21/2011 12:03:24 AM I am a beginner, and I found this to be a very fun and easy pattern to work with. Now, I did have a few questions for my MIL who is a terrific advanced sew-er :) but once explained, I got it very quickly. It was easy to understand and I completed the pattern in one evening. I used Heather material and the purse is freakin gorgeous! It turned out alot bigger than I ever imagined, but it so lovily. I could not have asked for a more fun and easy pattern to be my first. |

My go-to bag! By: Stacy on 02/18/2011 07:52:58 PM Pros: Excellent instructions, professional details, fun to make Cons: Fabric Requirements are rather excessive, a lot left over I have made at least 10 Birdie Slings, I can make them without looking at the instructions now! This bag is so versatile and roomy, and the instructions make creating a stylish/professional looking bad easy. I made Birdie Slings for my children's teachers Holiday gifts,as well as for a diaper bag for my sister, they are a pleasure to make. |

Awesome bag! By: bookgeekgirl on 02/18/2011 11:11:05 AM Pros: cute I absolutely adore this pattern. It was one of my first major sewing projects after learning to sew a couple years ago. The directions are incredibly clear and very easy to follow. Even tricky things like gussets were relatively easy to figure out. I have now made 4 of these bags -- 2 for myself and 2 as gifts. The bag is big and has nice pockets inside. I carry it every single day. |

Love this bag! By: Bonnyschmid on 02/18/2011 10:31:47 AM I thought the bag was a bit too big - and just adjusted the pattern to be about 2 inches smaller overall and absolutely love it. I have made about six of the bags. My daughter has made about 4 of the bags. It is a lovely way to show off a beautiful piece of fabric you love:) |

I have made 12! By: Mle BB on 02/18/2011 07:50:05 AM Pros: great big size, simple to make Cons: no inside zipper pockets I am currently working on my 12th! Birdie Sling bag. I give it five stars in all areas, it has easy to understand instructions and is HUGE! When you finish the bag you are sewing though a lot of layers so have a sharp needle. The amount of fabric quoted on the pattern is a bit too much I can usually buy less than it states on the package and it works out fine. The only modification I have made to the pattern is to add inset zipper pockets above the pockets on the inside of the bag. |

Easy to follow By: lindsay on 02/18/2011 06:44:38 AM I recently bought this pattern and have already made two of them. This easy to follow pattern is a great choice for a beginner who will be very satisfied with the gorgeous bag they can make. I did find that with a bit of fiddling I needed much less fabric than was stated on the yardage requirements. I would encourage anyone to try this bag without hesitation. |
