Beautiful By: Nina on 06/18/2011 05:54:17 AM This pattern is absolutely beautiful! I would love to see it in larger sizes. My 9 year old grand-daughter is now wearing a size 10/12! She is Asian, and would look great in this, but I do not know how to adjust the pattern. Please consider making it for the older girls too! The choice of fabric can dictate the age group. Thank you! |

You'll love it! By: the freckled bug on 02/18/2011 09:23:06 AM I felt a bit intimidated by this pattern before I opened it and didn't get started on it for a few months after I purchased it. How wrong I was to think it was difficult! I was so impressed by the great instructions. It went together so easily and the end result is fabulous. Your daughter is sure to get compliments on this piece! I've had great luck with Modkid patterns, love them! |

One of My Favorite Patterns! By: Steph G. on 02/18/2011 07:46:34 AM Pros: Easy and fun to make, beautiful result Cons: None Modkid patterns are truly some of the best. The Kyoko pattern looks fantastic but is very easy and comes together quickly. I made my first attempt at this pattern with only one year of sewing experience under my belt and I was amazed at the results. Patty Young's instructions are very, very clear and come with color photos to help you along the way. There are also many photos of completed pieces with different fabrics to give you lots of inspiration. The pattern is printed on thick paper. I have made this pattern many times over, as shirts and as dresses. I even used the pattern to make my daughter a kimono for Halloween, adding a straight skirt instead of the gathered skirt in the pattern. I have not tried making the pants. I found the sizing to run large, so measure carefully. I also found that the belt comes out more narrow than in the pictures, so I like to cut it more generously than the pattern. |
