Nice men's pattern By: bookgeekgirl on 02/18/2011 12:14:57 PM Pros: Great men's pattern! Cons: cuffs sized oddly. I was really excited to see this pattern, as it's so rare to find really excellent patterns for men. I made one of these shirts in plaid flannel for my boyfriend for Christmas. Mostly the directions were very easy to follow, although a couple parts were tricky and I had to go to the Internet to get more info. I haven't made a lot of shirts like this, so someone with more experience might have found this easier. I'd say this pattern is for the intermediate sewer and up -- it's quite complex, with a lot of pieces, but that's par for the course for a men's shirt pattern. One complaint, the cuffs are built for someone with bird wrists. They didn't come anywhere near fitting my guy (who doesn't have particularly huge wrists), and the pleat sizes were wrong to make the cuffs line up right with the sleeves. Maybe I just did something wrong, but it was annoying to have to re-draft my own version to make them fit. |
