I never met Joseph or Annie, but they've had a big impact on me. Joseph and Annie Albers were giants in the art world, especially during the 40's, 50's, and 60's. Both emerged from Germany at the start of World War II and set about changing the face of fine art and craft as we know it. This design is deeply influenced and indebted to Joseph's passion for the interaction of color and the clean, spare, yet powerful weavings crafted by Annie.
