Hey! It’s been awhile! After ten years of Handmade Holidays, we took a little break last year, but we’re super excited to be back. Since we’ve been away, the internet has changed quite a bit. For better or worse, fewer people are maintaining their blogs (including us!) and devoting more time to social media. Some people have moved to video instruction, and some are doing subscription-style websites or magazines. Lots of people are selling patterns instead of posting free. Whatever the case, we support our fellow small business owners–we’re 100% behind sustainable business models! That said, there are still many people sharing free projects and patterns, and we’ve done our best to round up as many as possible to inspire you to make, make, make this holiday season. We hope you enjoy these, click through, and support these inspiring designers.

The beauty of newborn feet is that shoes are simply for fun so you can go all out. Make a pair or two of these adorable Mary Janes by The Cottage Mama for newest baby in your life.

Knit Baby Bib with Ruffles
This adorable baby bib may or may not be for every day (depending on how fancy the baby is.) The bottom layer is waterproof PUL, which is perfect for new and messy eaters. A terrific tutorial from the always-reliable, Sew4Home, which you can get here.

Ergonomic Baby Burp Cloths
Another great project from Sew4Home! Sew up a set of cute and practical burp cloths for a new parent. The curved shape will sit firmly and confortably on a shoulder, and the long design provides more coverage. Get the tutorial here!

Lattice Baby Quilt
Amy of Diary of a Quilter has long been one of our favorite quilt pattern designers because she combines traditional+modern+easy patterns you want to make and gift. This Lattice Baby Quilt would make a beautiful gift for expectant parents, a new baby, or a toddler.

Reversible Tulip Petal Sun Hat
Baby skin is very sensitive, so it’s best to protect it. Plus, there’s nothing cuter than a baby in a sun hat. Gift this adorable reversible hat by The Cottage Mama to the cutest baby you know. Get the pattern here.

Wooden Ring Baby Teether
There comes a point when babies want to explore both soft and hard texture with their mouths. This teether is a simple gift (maybe a gift tag!) that is inexpensive and easy. The cloth star easily detaches from the wooden ring for washing. A great project from the always-reliable, Delia Creates!
