A blue corset is one of the most useful costume pieces you can own. The boning gives any outfit a defined waist and posture, and blue goes in more directions than you'd think: storybook heroines, sea creatures, vampires, steampunk travelers and more. The same corset changes character completely depending on what goes with it, from a full skirt to trousers, a dress, a cape or a pair of wings. Below are 35 looks built that way, covering familiar characters, fantasy themes, a few animals and some originals, with hair, makeup, props and shoes for each. I've noted where a blouse underneath, a longer skirt or a different corset style makes a look easier to wear for a long night.

Fashion Corset, Corset Top or Real Boning
Corset is used for three quite different things in costume shops, and knowing which one you're buying saves a lot of disappointment.
- Corset tops and bustiers are shaped garments with thin plastic boning and often a zip. They're comfortable, easy to put on alone and fine for most of these looks, but the plastic bones bend with body heat and can wrinkle across the front by the end of the night.
- Steel-boned corsets actually shape the waist. They lace up the back, usually fasten with a busk at the front, and are sized by waist measurement, often a few inches smaller than your natural waist. Check each maker's chart rather than ordering your dress size.
- Corset belts and waist cinchers cover only the middle of the body. They go over a blouse or dress and are the easiest way to get the corset line with full freedom to bend.
For a party, I'd pick a corset top or a cincher unless you already own a steel-boned piece. Whatever you buy, try it on sitting down. If it digs in at the hip or pushes up into your ribs when you sit, it will be miserable by the third hour.
1. Alice In Wonderland Blue Corset Costume

Alice is the gentlest way into corset costumes, since the sky-blue corset sits over a white puff-sleeve blouse and looks like part of a dress. Add a knee-length blue skirt, a crisp white apron, striped tights and black Mary Janes. The black ribbon headband is what tells people who you are, so you don't need a boxed costume set. Loose soft waves or a shoulder-length blonde wig. Rosy cheeks, fluttery lashes and pale pink lips. Carry a teacup, a white plush rabbit or an oversized pocket watch. A corset with wide straps, or one laced over a fitted white bodysuit, stays put when you reach for things and gives more coverage. When I make this one, I tie the apron over the corset rather than under it, so the apron strings don't dig in at the waist.
2. Cinderella Blue Corset Costume

Cinderella needs a corset in a soft pale blue with a satin finish, and the skirt should match it closely. I'd buy or cut the tulle midi or maxi skirt after the corset, holding the two together in daylight, because blues that look the same on a screen rarely match in person. Sheer elbow gloves, a silver choker and a rhinestone headband dress it up. A blonde updo or wig with curled face-framing pieces. Icy silver eyeshadow, glowing skin and soft rose lipstick. Clear flats, silver ballet shoes or low block heels stand in for glass slippers. A silver pumpkin purse or a clock prop. A short blue capelet adds warmth outside and keeps it suitable for a family gathering.
3. Ice Queen Blue Corset Costume

The ice queen is about movement. Pair a shimmering blue corset with a long silver-blue skirt in tulle, chiffon or pleated fabric, since all three swing when you walk. A sheer glittery cape over the shoulders, a crystal crown, snowflake earrings and silver gloves. Platinum hair in a long side braid, or a pale wig with a few blue strands. Frosted eyeshadow, silver liner, highlighter and cool pink lips give a wintry face without anything scary. Silver ankle boots or flats you can wear all evening, and a snowflake wand. Keep any glitter cosmetic-grade and well away from the eyes. Chiffon frays the moment you cut it, so if you're hemming your own skirt, a narrow rolled hem or a line of fray stopper keeps it neat.
4. Blue Mermaid Corset Costume

A real fishtail skirt is the part of a mermaid costume people regret, because it hobbles you on every step and stair. I'd choose a high-waisted skirt in sequins, scale print or iridescent fabric that flares at the hem but stays loose at the knee. Pair it with a turquoise corset and a sheer aqua wrap over the shoulders for a hint of water. Beachy curls with pearl clips, shell barrettes or blue extensions. Teal eyeshadow, luminous highlighter, pearl face gems and glossy coral lips. Carry a shell bag or a pearl-covered hand mirror instead of a trident. Metallic flats or low aqua boots will get you around easily.
5. Blue Pirate Corset Costume

Navy or royal blue looks right on a pirate, because it reads like an old naval coat color. Wear the corset over a white peasant blouse, with a layered black or blue skirt over leggings, or fitted black trousers tucked into knee-high boots. A wide belt, striped sash, coin jewelry and a soft tricorn hat. Tousled waves, a side braid or a long dark wig. Smudged brown liner, bronzed cheeks and berry lips. A rolled treasure map, a faux telescope or a small coin pouch in place of a weapon. Peasant blouses have a drawstring neckline that slides off the shoulder, so I tie the drawstring a bit tighter than looks right and tuck the bow inside the corset edge.
6. Blue Fairy Corset Costume

This powder-blue fairy is light and simple: a corset with a layered tulle skirt and soft white tights. Translucent wings with blue veining, a flower crown, delicate arm cuffs and a ribbon-wrapped wand. Loose curls, a braided crown, or a pastel-blue wig with floral clips. Lavender shimmer, rosy blush, a few face gems and glossy lips. Ballet flats with ribbon ankle ties. If the corset has a low neckline, layer it over a sheer puff-sleeve top or a fitted leotard. A small pouch holds essentials, and a light cardigan comes along for later. Ribbon ankle ties loosen with walking, so I stitch a small loop of elastic into each one before tying.
7. Blue Victorian Vampire Corset Costume

Midnight blue is the vampire's secret here: it looks black at a distance and shows its color up close. Layer the corset over a high-necked black lace blouse, with a long tiered skirt in navy or black. A velvet cape, cameo choker, lace gloves and an antique-style brooch give the period feel. A low curled updo, or a long black wig with blue undertones. Pale foundation, smoky blue eyes, defined brows and dark berry lips, with no blood or fangs needed. Black lace-up boots support you better than narrow heels. Carry a folding fan or an old book. Velvet capes crush where you sit on them, so I hang mine in a steamy bathroom for twenty minutes before wearing it.
8. Blue Witch Corset Costume

Cobalt blue makes this witch bright rather than gloomy. The corset goes over a black puff-sleeve blouse, with a long black skirt, blue-and-black striped tights and buckled ankle boots. Decorate a pointed hat with blue ribbon, fabric stars or faux flowers to tie it to the corset. Loose waves, a side braid or a long navy wig. Blue smoky eyes, a little shimmer and plum lipstick. A small broom tied with matching ribbon, or a fabric-covered book of pretend recipes. A crescent-moon necklace and star earrings add magic without ritual imagery. It covers plenty, so it's a good choice for handing out candy at the door. Pointed hats flop over at the tip; a cone of thin card slipped inside keeps it upright.
9. Moon Goddess Blue Corset Costume

A moon goddess is an original costume, so you set the rules. I start with a navy corset and add silver trim along its edges; flat metallic braid stitched or glued down the seams does it. Pair it with a flowing midnight-blue chiffon skirt, with a layer of silver tulle on top. A crescent headpiece, star earrings and metallic arm cuffs. Long waves in black, silver or deep blue, with small star clips. Silver shadow, navy liner, pearly highlighter and tiny cosmetic stars at the temples. Silver sandals, metallic flats or low boots. A crescent-moon staff from light cardboard and ribbon, with no sharp points. You can raise or lower the coverage simply by changing what goes under the corset.
10. Blue Steampunk Corset Costume

Brocade is the right corset fabric for steampunk, because its woven pattern looks Victorian even before you add a single gear. Layer the blue brocade over an ivory high-neck blouse, with a brown high-low skirt, striped leggings or tailored trousers and lace-up boots. A cropped jacket or bolero adds warmth and structure. Decorate a small top hat with blue ribbon, faux gears, feathers and goggles. Curls, a messy updo or a copper wig. Bronze eyeshadow, winged liner and muted berry lips. A compass, pocket watch or a cardboard gadget painted gold, plus fingerless gloves and a utility belt. Real metal gears are heavy on a small hat, so I use plastic or painted card ones.
11. Renaissance Princess Blue Corset Costume

This Renaissance princess is the most formal look here. A sapphire corset over a cream chemise with full sleeves, and a floor-length velvet or brocade skirt in blue, silver or ivory. A decorative belt, pearl necklace and small fabric crown. Long curls, a half-up braided style, or a dark brown wig with pearl pins. Soft, luminous makeup with neutral shadow, rosy cheeks and muted pink lips. Low lace-up boots or ballet flats under the skirt. A rolled message tied with ribbon or a small velvet pouch. A short faux-fur-trimmed cape keeps you warm. A floor-length velvet skirt is heavy, so I put it on a wide waistband or add a pair of skirt hooks at the corset's lower edge to take the weight off your hips.
12. Blue Butterfly Corset Costume

The wings make the butterfly, and the corset just has to stay quiet underneath. A bright blue corset with a black tulle skirt, opaque tights and blue flats or ankle boots. Large blue-and-black fabric wings strapped over the shoulders, plus an antenna headband, delicate gloves and a flower-shaped purse. A sleek ponytail, curled bob or blue ombre wig keeps the focus on the wings. Blend blue and black shadow outward into a soft wing, with cosmetic dots or tiny gems at the temples, and leave most of the face bare so it stays comfortable. If big wings are a problem in crowds, pick a collapsible pair or sew smaller wings onto a cape-style harness. Wing straps rub at the armpit, so I cover them in a soft fabric tube.
13. Peacock Blue Corset Costume

A peacock needs color, not a bodysuit. A blue corset with a layered teal skirt or fitted black trousers, plus a removable fan of light fabric feathers at the back, kept narrow enough for doorways. I attach that fan with snaps to a ribbon tied around the corset, so it comes off for sitting. A jeweled headband, blue earrings and wrist cuffs. A high bun, sleek ponytail or long dark waves. Emerald and sapphire eyeshadow, defined liner and iridescent highlighter. Teal flats or black boots. Carry a small blue clutch and nothing else, because the tail is already the prop.
14. Blue Bird Corset Costume

This blue bird is cheerful and compact. A sky-blue corset, a feather-textured shoulder cape and a layered blue skirt, with opaque leggings underneath for warmth. Fabric wings that run from wrist to shoulder let you spread your arms and fold them away again. A small feathered headband instead of a full mask. A smooth bun, curled ponytail or short blue wig. Cobalt liner, pale blue shadow, rosy cheeks and a small gold accent at the center of the lips. Yellow flats or soft gold ankle boots hint at bird feet. Use synthetic feathers stitched or glued securely to a backing, because loose feathers end up all over the floor.
15. Blue Porcelain Doll Corset Costume

A porcelain doll suits a pale blue corset paired with a full knee-length skirt. Layer it over a white puff-sleeve blouse with a lace-trimmed petticoat, white tights and glossy Mary Janes. A large satin bow or a little bonnet. Ringlets, twin ponytails or a curled blonde wig. Matte foundation, round rosy blush, precise lashes and soft pink lips. I'd skip painted cracks to keep it sweet. A stuffed animal, toy teacup or music box, with white gloves and a pearl bracelet. The petticoat is what gives a doll her shape, and a cheap one goes limp by evening; two layers of stiff net tulle under a plain cotton slip hold the skirt out much longer.
16. Blue Ringmaster Corset Costume

The ringmaster is all about the jacket. A royal-blue corset sits under a cropped red or navy tailcoat, with high-waisted black trousers or a ruffled knee-length skirt over opaque tights. Gold braid, decorative buttons and epaulets give the classic shape. A small top hat on a headband is easier than a tall heavy one. A sleek high ponytail, defined curls or a polished dark wig. Winged liner, red lipstick, gold shadow and light contouring. Black knee-high or ankle boots. A light hoop, a rolled show program or a baton with no sharp ends. If you add gold braid to a thrifted jacket yourself, sew it on with a running stitch at both edges; glue lets it lift as soon as you bend your arms.
17. Blue Circus Performer Corset Costume

The circus performer is the playful cousin of the ringmaster. A sparkly blue corset with a striped skater skirt or fitted shorts over opaque tights, plus a short ruffled shoulder piece, wrist cuffs and a tiny tilted hat. Blue, white and silver keep it lively without getting busy. A curled ponytail, braided buns or a blue bob wig. Glittery blue liner, rosy cheeks and a red or pink lip. Silver sneakers, lace-up boots or low character shoes. Juggling scarves, a ribbon wand or light hoops as props. It looks most finished when the trim on the corset, hat and shoes is the same metallic color, so I buy all three trims from the same roll.
18. Blue Cowgirl Corset Costume

Denim-blue is an easy fit for a cowgirl. Wear the corset over a white button-down or a fitted long-sleeve top, with a fringed suede-look skirt or boot-cut jeans and brown cowboy boots. A tan hat, a belt buckle, a neck scarf and a little crossbody saddle bag set the theme. Loose waves, low braids or a long honey-brown wig. Bronze shadow, peach blush and rosy lips. Coil some soft craft cord as a rope, or skip the prop for fringed gloves. If you'd rather not wear a full corset, a corset-style belt over the shirt gives the same line and bends much more easily. Most of this will go back into your closet afterwards.
19. Blue Sailor Corset Costume

Navy and white make the sailor look crisp with very little effort. The corset goes with high-waisted white trousers or a pleated white midi skirt, and a striped boatneck top underneath for coverage and contrast. A sailor cap, a red neck scarf, gold buttons and a small navy crossbody bag. A smooth ponytail, rolled vintage waves or a shoulder-length brunette wig. Clean black liner, rosy cheeks and red lipstick. White sneakers, navy loafers or low block heels. Carry a light decorative life ring or a rolled map, and don't add much more; navy, white and red say sailor by themselves. White trousers show every mark, so I'd wear them only if you can avoid the snack table.
20. Blue Superhero Corset Costume

An original superhero lets you design your own emblem. Wear a structured royal-blue corset over a long-sleeve metallic bodysuit, with a matching skater skirt or fitted trousers, opaque leggings and knee-high boots. A short silver cape moves more easily than a long one. Cut the emblem from felt, then repeat the shape on wrist cuffs and a soft eye mask so the whole costume feels designed. A high ponytail, sleek waves or a blue-streaked wig. Sharp winged liner, silver shadow and berry lipstick. A shield-shaped purse rather than a combat prop. Attach the cape with snaps or hook-and-loop tape so it pulls away if someone grabs it.
21. Blue Fantasy Knight Corset Costume

A fantasy knight can look strong without real armor. A steel-blue corset over a soft gray tunic, with fitted black trousers, tall boots and light silver shoulder pieces. A blue cape, decorative belt, fingerless gloves and a crown-shaped headband. A braided ponytail, half-up style or silver-gray wig. Smoky gray shadow, blue liner and neutral lips. A rolled quest map or a blue banner instead of a sword. Shoulder pieces in EVA foam, heat-shaped with a hair dryer over a curved surface and painted silver, look convincing and weigh very little. Seal the foam with a flexible primer before painting, or the silver paint cracks the first time it bends.
22. Blue Greek Goddess Corset Costume

A Greek goddess is about drape. A pale blue corset with softly curved seams sits under a draped white maxi skirt, so the fabric flows over it instead of fighting it. Add a sheer blue shoulder sash, a gold waist chain, a leaf headband and wide metallic cuffs. Long curls, a braided crown, or a dark wavy wig with gold ribbon. Gold eyeshadow, radiant highlighter, defined lashes and soft peach lips. Gold sandals or metallic flats. A small scroll or a gold-painted laurel branch. Pin the drape at the shoulder and hip with safety pins hidden on the inside, then check it by sitting down and standing up a few times before you leave the house.
23. Winter Fairy Blue Corset Costume

The winter fairy is icier and fluffier than the summer one. A frosted blue corset with a layered white-and-blue tulle skirt, shimmery tights, translucent wings and a short faux-fur capelet. A crystal headband and snowflake earrings keep it seasonal without any holiday imagery. Silver, platinum or pale blue hair in loose waves or a long braid. Pearly eyeshadow, blue mascara, cool pink blush and a bit of shimmer on the cheekbones. White ankle boots or silver flats. A light foam snowflake wand. Choose wings with flexible edges and secure straps if you'll be in a crowd or outdoors. Faux fur sheds from cut edges, so I trim it from the back with small snips through the backing only, never through the pile.
24. Blue Dragon Queen Corset Costume

A dragon queen is dramatic without being frightening. A dark blue corset, a long black skirt and a scale-textured shoulder cape. Light blue horns on a padded headband, metallic cuffs, fingerless gloves and a detachable fabric tail. Instead of a full face covering, stencil small scale patterns near the temples with navy and silver shadow; a piece of fishnet tights held against the skin makes a quick scale stencil. Long black hair, a silver wig or a braided updo. Lace-up black boots under the skirt. A large decorative blue egg made from light craft materials. A stuffed fabric tail needs to be light, so I fill it with polyester fiberfill rather than anything heavier, and attach it with a button loop so it can come off for sitting.
25. Blue Masquerade Queen Corset Costume

The masquerade queen is the formal party look on the list. A sapphire corset with a full black skirt layered with navy tulle or blue satin panels, so the color runs top to bottom. Elbow gloves, a jeweled choker and a small crown. A mask held on a handle, or a light version tied with ribbon. A curled updo, side-swept waves or a dark wig with crystal pins. Smoky navy eyes, luminous foundation and deep rose lips. Silver flats or low heels. A feathered fan makes a second prop. Keep the embellishment around the corset, mask and crown, and leave the skirt fairly plain. A mask on a stick is easier at a party, because you can lower it to eat, drink and talk.
26. Mad Hatter Blue Corset Costume

A Mad Hatter should look mismatched on purpose, and that is harder than it sounds. Wear the blue corset over a striped or ruffled blouse, with cropped checked trousers, a high-low skirt or mismatched panels in teal, purple and white. Striped tights, lace-up boots, fingerless gloves and an oversized top hat with ribbon and a paper price card. Bright curls, a copper wig or teased hair with blue streaks. Mismatched eyeshadow, rosy cheeks, defined brows and berry lips. A patterned teacup or teapot purse. The trick I use: repeat the blue in the hatband, the corset and the socks, so the chaos has something holding it together.
27. Dorothy Blue Corset Costume

Dorothy in a corset is a fun twist on a very familiar dress. Wear a blue gingham corset over a white puff-sleeve blouse, with a matching gingham midi or pinafore-style skirt, white ankle socks and sparkly red flats. Two low braids tied with blue ribbon, or a brunette braided wig. Soft brown liner, rosy cheeks and pink lips. A small woven basket with a plush dog and a folded blue cloth. A white cardigan for cold weather. Gingham comes in different check sizes, and the corset and skirt must use the same one; mismatched checks are the first thing I notice on a homemade Dorothy.
28. Little Bo Peep Blue Corset Costume

Little Bo Peep wears a pastel-blue corset over a white puff-sleeve blouse, with a full blue or white skirt edged in lace, a small apron, bloomers or opaque tights, and ribbon-trimmed ankle boots. A matching bonnet over curls, a blonde wig or a soft braided updo. Rosy cheeks, fluttery lashes and pale pink lips. A light shepherd's crook made from foam or decorated cardboard with a rounded end, or a small plush sheep. Repeat the blue ribbon on the bonnet, sleeves and shoes. A long crook catches on doorframes and gets bumped in crowds, so I make mine in two pieces that slot together and can come apart for the car.
29. Snow White Blue Corset Costume

Snow White fits a corset more naturally than most characters, since her bodice is already a fitted blue top. Wear a royal-blue corset over a blouse with pale blue puffed sleeves, then add a yellow midi or maxi skirt, a short red cape and a red bow headband. A chin-length black bob wig is the clearest hairstyle; naturally dark hair can be curled under at the ends. Classic red lips, rosy blush, defined brows and neutral eyes. Red or black ballet flats. A red apple-shaped purse instead of real fruit. Gold piping along the corset links it to the yellow skirt. If you sew the puffed sleeves yourself, a small circle of tulle gathered inside the sleeve cap keeps them from collapsing.
30. Belle Village Dress Blue Corset Costume

Belle's village outfit is meant to look practical, so the corset should look practical too. Cotton, a linen-look fabric or matte satin suits it far better than sequins or shiny brocade. Wear it over a white blouse with elbow-length sleeves, with a long blue skirt, a white apron and brown flats or short lace-up boots. A low ponytail tied with blue ribbon, with a couple of loose pieces at the face, or a chestnut wig. Warm brown shadow, peach blush and rosy lips. A small basket of artificial flowers or a single hardback book. Almost every piece here can be worn again after Halloween, which is why I like it.
31. Blue Raven Corset Costume

A blue raven looks black from across the room and blue up close. A midnight-blue corset with a long black skirt and a feather-textured shoulder cape. Fitted black sleeves, opaque tights and pointed ankle boots. A raven-shaped hair clip or a dark blue feather headband instead of a mask. Glossy black hair, a dark navy wig or a sleek braided ponytail. Navy, plum and charcoal eyeshadow, cool highlighter and deep berry lips. A faux-feather fan, or a small decorative bird perched on a gloved hand. Iridescent fabric shifts between blue and black under bright light, which adds depth. Keep the feathers synthetic, soft and well attached.
32. Blue Jellyfish Corset Costume

A jellyfish is one of the most imaginative ideas here and one of the easiest to build. An aqua corset with a layered iridescent skirt, sheer blue tights and silver flats. Make a translucent cape or an umbrella-shaped shoulder piece with long ribbons hanging from the edge for tentacles, and keep the ribbons above the ankle so you don't trip. A high bun, pastel-blue waves or a lavender-blue wig. Pearly shadow, glossy lips, face gems and reflective highlighter. A clear bubble bag holds your things. The ribbons are the prop. I mix ribbon widths and finishes on purpose, satin with organza, so they move at different speeds and look more alive.
33. Blue Storm Cloud Corset Costume

A storm cloud costume turns weather into something you can wear. A slate-blue corset with a layered gray tulle skirt, and clusters of white and gray fabric clouds on a shoulder cape or wide headband. Silver lightning shapes cut from soft felt, blue tights and metallic ankle boots. Silver-gray tousled waves or temporary blue streaks in your own hair. Stormy gray shadow, cobalt liner, silver highlighter and soft mauve lips. A small clear umbrella with removable cloud shapes and blue ribbon raindrops. Keep hanging pieces short so they don't block your view. For the clouds, I stuff small fabric pouches with fiberfill and tack them down, which is lighter and fluffier than cotton balls glued to card.
34. Blue Rose Queen Corset Costume

A blue rose queen is original and easy to make your own. A royal-blue corset with a full navy tulle skirt, and fabric roses in blue, white and silver along the neckline and waistband. A flower crown, sheer gloves, a short cape and crystal earrings. Long dark curls, a silver wig, or a braided updo with small flowers. Sapphire shadow, rosy blush, blue-toned highlighter and soft berry lips. Silver flats or blue velvet ankle boots. A single oversized fabric rose or a floral hand mirror. Keep the flowers near the face and waist so it stays balanced. Stitch the roses on through their bases rather than gluing them, since hot glue on a corset tends to peel away as the corset flexes.
35. Blue Galaxy Space Captain Corset Costume

The space captain is the futuristic end of the list. A metallic blue corset over a silver long-sleeve bodysuit, with navy trousers, a short structured skirt or opaque leggings. Silver boots, wrist cuffs, a shoulder cape and a foam star badge. A sleek ponytail, a silver bob wig, or dark hair with blue extensions. Graphic blue liner, holographic shadow, luminous highlighter and neutral lips. A painted cardboard control tablet, or a clear globe filled with metallic stars. Skip the bulky helmet; it hides your hair and makeup. Metallic corset fabric creases sharply, so if it's folded in the package, hang it near a steamy shower rather than ironing it.
Lacing Up So You Can Still Eat Dinner
A corset should hold you, not squeeze you. This is how I put one on for a long night.
- Wear a thin, close-fitting cotton layer underneath, like a camisole or the blouse itself. It soaks up sweat, stops the edges from rubbing and protects the corset.
- Loosen the laces fully, fasten the front, then tighten from the middle of the back outward, pulling the loops at the waist and working up and down.
- Stop when it feels snug and supportive. The gap at the back should run fairly even from top to bottom; a V shape means it's tighter at one end than the other.
- Sit down, take a full breath and reach both arms forward. If any of that is hard, let it out a little.
- Bend at the knees to pick things up, and loosen the laces a notch before a big meal.
If you feel lightheaded, numb or short of breath, loosen it straight away; no costume is worth that. Afterwards, hang the corset over a chair to air out overnight, spot-clean marks with a damp cloth, and keep steel-boned corsets out of the washing machine, which can rust the bones and twist the shape.
How Many Characters Can One Corset Play?
One blue corset really can carry dozens of characters. Gingham and bows make it sweet, velvet and lace make it dark, and silver accessories send it into space. The costumes that look most finished repeat the blue in two or three more places, such as the shoes, a hair accessory, the cape or the eyeshadow. Plan for secure layers, supportive shoes, light props and enough room to breathe and move. If a traditional corset isn't for you, a stretch corset top or a wide corset belt gives the same line. Then dress it from head to toe so every piece looks deliberate.
