Shego is one of the easiest characters to sew for, because the whole design comes down to a hard split of green and black. The usual pieces are a fitted suit, long black hair, dark lips, mismatched gloves and boots, and green energy around the hands. You don't need to copy one screen version exactly. I've seen leggings, dresses, tailored separates, gym clothes and thrift finds all work, as long as the split runs from shoulder to boot and the costume is something you can actually move in. Below are 45 versions, from a faithful catsuit to a no-sew rescue the night before.

Sewing Green Panels onto Stretch Fabric
Nearly every version below means putting green onto black, or black onto green, and the fabric is usually a stretch knit. That's where most homemade Shego suits go wrong. A straight stitch on stretch fabric pops the first time you squat, and tape or glue lets go wherever the fabric flexes. Here's how I do it.
- Put the garment on and mark where the split should run with chalk or pins while you're wearing it. A diagonal drawn on a flat shirt lands somewhere different once it stretches over a body.
- Cut the green panel from fabric with the same or more stretch than the base. A stiff panel on a stretchy suit pulls and ripples.
- Fold the raw edge under about a centimetre and pin it with the pins running across the line, not along it.
- Sew with a narrow zigzag or your machine's stretch stitch and a ballpoint or stretch needle. A regular needle can skip stitches or leave small holes in knits.
- Stretch the finished seam gently. If you hear thread snapping, unpick it and loosen the stitch.
If you can't sew, fabric tape will hold for one evening on a flat, low-stretch area like the chest or upper back. I'd still tack each corner with a few hand stitches. Corners are where tape lifts first, and once one corner curls, the whole panel starts to peel.
1. Classic Shego Costume With Jumpsuit

The classic jumpsuit is the one people recognise from across a room, and it's the one I'd make if you only make one. Look for, or cut, an asymmetrical layout where the colours swap sides between the torso, sleeves and legs. Wear one green glove and one black, and mirror that on the boots with knee-high covers. A long, wavy black wig gives the silhouette, and arched brows, smoky green shadow and black lipstick sharpen the face. Pale green skin is optional; if you do it, use cosmetic-grade paint and set it well. Translucent green fabric or small battery wrist lights stand in for the glow without anything heavy to carry.
2. DIY Shego Costume With Leggings

Black leggings and a long-sleeve green gym top are the cheapest base I know. Fashion tape will hold black panels on the shirt for one evening, but on stretch knit it lets go wherever the fabric flexes, so I'd tack the corners with a few hand stitches. Add green strips down one leg of the leggings. Wear one black glove and one green, or cover cheap gloves with stretch fabric. Loose waves in your own dark hair or a side-parted wig, green liner, strong brows and dark lipstick do the rest. Black combat boots with a green cover on one side and two soft mesh bundles for energy finish it.
3. Shego Costume With Two-Piece Set

A two-piece gives you the jumpsuit look with far easier bathroom breaks, and sizing top and bottom separately helps anyone who isn't the same size above and below the waist. Choose a long-sleeve crop top and high-waisted black pants, then sew or tape green panels down opposite sides. A green cami underneath covers the midriff if you prefer. Wear a slim belt low on one hip, mismatched gloves and black ankle boots with green covers. Smooth waves, matte base, angled brows, green shadow and charcoal lipstick are the face. Green organza wrapped at the wrists photographs well and needs no batteries.
4. Shego Bodysuit And Cargo Pants Costume

A black bodysuit with green cargo pants is the version I'd wear to anything with a lot of standing around, because you get real pockets. Check the pockets close properly so a phone doesn't slide out when you sit. For the diagonal across the bodysuit, stretch fabric is easier to live with than iron-on vinyl, which cracks at the waist after a few hours of bending. Add black fingerless gloves with green cuffs, and loose bends in the wig rather than tight curls. Green shadow at the outer corners, black liner and dark lips, sturdy lace-up boots and a green belt bag. Small battery bracelets give a safe glow.
5. Modest Shego Costume With Tunic

For more coverage, layer a long black athletic tunic over straight-leg green pants. Put green panels on one shoulder, the waist and the opposite sleeve so the split survives the longer shape. Gloves with green cuffs cover the hands, and either a lightweight black headscarf or a long black wig can give the dark-hair line, whichever you prefer. Keep makeup simple: brows, green liner, a soft charcoal lip. Wrap green ribbon around one boot shaft and stitch the end down, because a tied ribbon works loose with walking. A slim belt and two sheer green cuffs finish it.
6. Plus Size Shego Costume With Stretch Jumpsuit

For plus-size Shego, I'd fit the jumpsuit to move rather than sizing down to squeeze. Pick a breathable stretch with a supportive lining. Position the green panels on the diagonal, which draws a strong line without adding bulk, and sew them with a stretch stitch so they give with you. Add mismatched elbow-length gloves, a green hip pouch and cushioned black boots with one green cover. A wig with lift at the crown and loose ends balances the shape. Dark lipstick, lifted liner and blended green shadow. Tulle at the wrists flares out nicely when you pose.
7. Glam Shego Costume With Sequins

Sequins turn Shego into a party look. A black sequin jumpsuit with vivid green side panels is the base, and I'd pick flat-laid sequins, because raised ones snag gloves, bags and sofa fabric all night. Add long satin gloves in opposite colours and pointed black ankle boots with green shoe clips. A glossy wig with polished waves, a luminous base, emerald shimmer, a sharp wing and black cherry lipstick suit it better than heavy face paint. Crystal earrings and a green waist belt add a bit more. Translucent green fans opened around the hands make an energy prop that folds away when you need your hands back.
8. Matte Tactical Shego Costume

The tactical version is for anyone who wants Shego looking ready for a fight and still comfortable at hour five. Start with a black utility jumpsuit or fitted cargo set, then add green at the shoulders, waist and knees. Skip heavy hardware; metal buckles dig in when you sit. Wear fingerless gloves in opposite colours, a green thigh pouch and supportive combat boots with one green lace. A loose low ponytail with face-framing pieces, smudged green liner, cheekbones and dark matte lips. Soft fabric flames on flexible wrist bands are the only prop.
9. Faux Leather Shego Costume

Faux leather makes Shego look sharp without fussy accessories, but coated fabric doesn't breathe, so I only put it on the legs. Pair fitted faux-leather pants with a green-and-black stretch jacket that zips securely. Add one green and one black gauntlet and mismatched knee-high covers over flat boots. A waist-length wig with a deep side part, green metallic shadow, black liner and charcoal lipstick. A narrow green belt breaks up all the black. Clear green acrylic cuffs suggest the glow; keep them rounded so nobody gets scratched in a crowd.
10. Velvet Shego Costume With Flared Pants

Velvet gives the split a soft, retro richness. Wear black velvet flares with a fitted green velvet top and add contrasting panels across the sleeves and waist. A wide green belt hides the join between the two pieces. Velvet has a nap, so cut every panel with the pile running the same way or the green will look like two shades under light. One green glove, one black, platform boots with stable block heels, and full brushed waves. Smoky emerald shadow, sharp brows and a dark satin lip. Chiffon tied at the wrists trails as you move.
11. Athletic Shego Costume With Unitard

A unitard is the flexible choice for dancing or a long walk around a convention. Pick a black long-sleeve unitard and add green stretch panels on one shoulder, the opposite hip and alternating legs, sewn with a narrow zigzag so they don't pop when you bend. Dance tights underneath add coverage. Wear soft fingerless gloves, a slim green belt and dance boots with green ankle cuffs. A high ponytail keeps hair off your face. Waterproof liner, green cream shadow and a transfer-resistant dark lip stay put through movement, and sheer wrist streamers follow your hands.
12. Shego Costume With Skater Dress

A skater dress is a playful swap for the catsuit, and the flared skirt moves easily at a party. Choose a long-sleeve dress with asymmetrical panels, or add green stretch sections to a black one. Opaque black tights go underneath, with one green and one black leg warmer over ankle boots. Mismatched elbow gloves carry the split above the waist. Smooth the wig at the crown and flick the ends. Green shadow, graphic liner and plum-black lips. A small green belt bag holds your phone, and sheer cuffs suggest the glow.
13. Shego Costume With Mini Dress And Leggings

A black mini dress over bright green leggings is one of my favourite quick builds. Add a diagonal green panel across the dress and a green arm warmer on one arm for the odd sleeve. Black shorts under the dress are worth it at an active party. Wear opposite-coloured gloves and sturdy knee boots, with a fitted green cover on one. Loose waves frame sharp brows and green winged liner. Charcoal lipstick is softer than pure black and less likely to look patchy by the end of the night. A green utility belt and organza flames at both wrists finish it.
14. Long Dress Shego Costume

A floor-length black dress turns Shego elegant once you add strong green blocking. Pick a comfortable long-sleeve style with room to walk. Run green down one side of the bodice and the opposite side of the skirt, so the colour still crosses over. Wear leggings underneath if there's a slit. Add mismatched gloves, a slim green belt and flat boots under the hem. A waist-length wig in soft waves, emerald liner, sculpted brows and dark berry lipstick. I'd fasten the green fabric to wrist cuffs rather than carry a prop, so both hands stay free for food and photos.
15. Shego Costume With Blazer And Trousers

This is Shego running headquarters: a fitted black blazer with tailored green trousers. Add a black mock-neck with one diagonal green stripe, and green cuffs sewn onto the blazer sleeves. A green belt and compact hip pouch bring a hint of villain gear to a polished outfit. One black glove, one green, pointed loafers or low ankle boots. Keep the hair sleek with just a bend at the ends, and go sharp on the liner with a dark lip. Two green acrylic bangles or lit wristbands are subtle enough for an office party.
16. Shego Costume With Structured Vest

A structured vest gives the body some shape without a catsuit, which I'd suggest for anyone who dislikes skin-tight fabric. Layer a black vest with green side panels over a long-sleeve black mock-neck and pair it with high-waisted green trousers. Diagonal black strips or knee patches on the trousers carry the asymmetry down. Wear mismatched gloves, a narrow belt and low combat boots with green laces. Long waves with a deep side part. Graphic green shadow, extended liner and a matte dark lip. Soft green mesh on both wrist cuffs. Vests are easy to let out at the side seams, so this one adjusts well for different builds.
17. Shego Costume With Hoodie And Cargo Pants

A black zip hoodie and green cargo pants make an easy Shego from everyday clothes. Sew green stripes across the chest and one sleeve, keeping them clear of the zipper so it still runs. A fitted black shirt underneath means you can take the hoodie off in a hot room and still be in costume. One black and one green fingerless glove, black sneakers with green laces, and relaxed waves. Green liner, brows and deep gray lipstick. A green belt bag and glow bracelets suit outdoor events where pockets and a warm layer matter.
18. Casual Shego Costume With Joggers

Black joggers and a fitted green long-sleeve top keep the palette and stay relaxed. Put black panels on one shoulder and the opposite side of the shirt, and add green stripes to one jogger leg. Soft mismatched gloves and black high-tops with one green sock showing above the shoe. A low ponytail makes it easy to move. Green cream liner, mascara and charcoal lipstick are plenty. Sheer green scrunchies on the wrists are a cheap, comfortable nod to the glow.
19. Last-Minute Shego Costume With T-Shirt

When time is short, start with a fitted black T-shirt, green leggings and black ankle boots. Cut bold diagonals from green felt and tape them to the shirt. Felt is stiff and doesn't stretch, so keep the shapes away from the underarm or they'll buckle every time you lift an arm. Add black shapes to the leggings so both colours cross the whole outfit. Wear cheap gloves in opposite shades and tie a small pouch around one thigh. Long black hair, green shadow and dark lips carry most of the character. Tulle at each wrist for energy, and nothing needs sewing.
20. No-Sew Shego Costume With Fabric Tape

For the no-sew route, I tape green stretch fabric onto a black bodysuit and leggings with double-sided fashion tape. Cut the panels with the garments lying flat, then try each one on before peeling the backing, because a panel that looks right on a table often twists once the fabric stretches over you. Never tape onto skin, and keep stiff pieces off knees and elbows. One green glove, one black, green covers over comfortable boots, tousled waves, brows, green liner and a blackened plum lip. A belt pouch and mesh cuffs finish it, and everything peels off afterwards.
21. Thrifted Shego Costume With Tracksuit

At the thrift store, look for a black tracksuit plus a green athletic jacket you don't mind cutting. Use the green jacket as panel fabric on the black top and pants, or just layer the two without cutting. Tracksuit fabric frays very little, which makes it forgiving to sew. Add opposite gloves, a green belt bag and trainers with bright green laces. A slightly messy wig balances the sporty clothes. Blend green shadow outward with black liner and dark lipstick. Sheer ribbon on padded wristbands is cheap energy. Tracksuits have pockets and stretch, so this one is good for school events or a long night.
22. Shego Costume With Bike Shorts

Bike shorts suit a warm indoor party. Pair green-and-black shorts with a fitted long-sleeve colour-blocked top that reaches the waistband, so it reads athletic rather than revealing. Add mismatched fingerless gloves, black crew socks and cushioned high-tops with green laces. A high ponytail with soft pieces around the face. Sweat-resistant green liner, sharp brows and charcoal lips hold up when you dance. A light belt bag and sheer wrist streamers are all you carry.
23. Winter Shego Costume With Long Coat

Cold nights call for a fitted black coat with green lapels and cuffs, which I'd sew from felt-backed fabric so they hold their shape. Underneath, a black thermal top and green leggings, with panels only where they show. Insulated gloves in opposite colours and winter boots with one green gaiter. A knit headband in black and green sits well over a long wig or your own hair. Cold, dry air pulls at makeup, so use waterproof mascara and a tinted balm in a dark shade instead of matte lipstick. Belt the coat and add sheer green fabric at the wrists.
24. Convention Shego Costume With Comfortable Shoes

For a convention, I put comfort ahead of accuracy: breathable fabric, closures that don't fail, and shoes you can stand in all day. Choose a stretch jumpsuit with a zip you can reach yourself, front or back, and a moisture-wicking layer under it. Soft fingerless gloves let you use your phone. Walking sneakers hide under mismatched boot covers. Pin the wig with discreet clips over a breathable cap. Long-wear liner, setting powder and a dark lip stain mean fewer touch-ups. A small hip pouch carries pins and a comb, and flexible lit cuffs are easier in a crowd than a big prop.
25. LED Shego Costume With Glowing Hands

Here the glow is the centrepiece: low-heat green LED bracelets under sheer wrist cuffs. The base can be a plain black jumpsuit with green stretch panels. Keep battery packs small, enclosed and easy to switch off, and test everything at home first. I'd sew a small pocket on the inside of each cuff for the pack so it doesn't swing. Gloves should end below the lit cuffs. Long waves, green shimmer and black lipstick. Organza over the lights diffuses the glow without covering your fingers. Skip loose wires and fast-flashing modes.
26. UV Green Shego Costume

Fluorescent green fabric pops under UV lights at a party and still looks bright in daylight. Sew neon panels onto a matte black jumpsuit, putting the brightest colour on the torso, gloves and one leg. Use fluorescent laces and a green belt rather than painting shoes. Wear UV-reactive liner only if the label says it's safe near the eyes. A matte dark lip balances the neon. Mesh cuffs add the glow. Party lighting varies, so I always photograph the finished suit under ordinary light and under a UV torch to check every panel still shows.
27. Metallic Shego Costume

Silver-green metallic fabric makes the uniform look futuristic. Use it as panels on a matte black bodysuit, not all over, or you'll just look shiny instead of looking like Shego. Metallic knits often have less stretch than the base fabric, so keep those panels off the elbows, knees and waist where you bend. Add metallic green gauntlets, a narrow belt and sleek boots with one silver-green shin cover. Smooth wig waves, metallic emerald shadow at the outer corners, crisp liner and a charcoal lip. Sheer wrist fins carry the energy.
28. Cyber Shego Costume With Utility Vest

For a cyber version, start with black cargo pants, a fitted green top and a light black utility vest. Run narrow reflective green strips along the vest, gloves and trouser seams. Reflective tape is stiff, so sew it on with a long stitch rather than relying on its adhesive. Keep accessories soft. Wear stable platform sneakers with green ankle straps and a sleek high ponytail with hidden green extensions. Graphic liner, dark lips and a few small geometric face accents suit the theme. A clear green visor worn up on the head keeps your view open, and lit cuffs finish it.
29. Armored Shego Costume With Foam Panels

Foam armour gives Shego drama without much weight. Start with a flexible two-colour jumpsuit and attach shaped foam at the shoulders, forearms, knees and shins with removable fasteners. Sew-on hook-and-loop holds better than glue on stretch fabric. Paint the foam green with black edges and seal it with a flexible finish, or it'll crack the first time you bend. Round every corner so you don't catch on people. Supportive boots, mismatched padded gloves, a big wig, angular green eyes and dark lips. Sheer fins on the forearms suggest energy. Sit, bend and walk in it at home before the party.
30. Gothic Shego Costume With Long Skirt

A gothic Shego pairs a fitted black high-neck top with a sweeping black skirt cut with sharp green panels. Wear a green cincher-style belt over the clothes, and make sure it unhooks easily so you can loosen it after dinner. Long black gloves with green cuffs and lace-up boots ground the length. Add textured waves with a green comb on one side, smoky emerald eyes, defined brows and a dark berry lip. A short black cape lined in green moves well without overwhelming the outfit. Sheer green at the wrists flows when you raise your arms.
31. Punk Shego Costume With Plaid Pants

Green-and-black plaid pants give Shego a punk attitude. Pair them with a fitted black mock-neck with asymmetrical green panels and a cropped black vest on top. Soft fingerless gloves, a green belt and combat boots with contrasting laces. Add volume and a few green clip-in pieces rather than dyeing for one night. Smudged liner, strong brows and a matte dark lip. Sew-on fabric patches personalise it, and I'd skip spikes and chains, which snag everything you brush past. Mesh cuffs that flare at the hands finish it.
32. Y2K Shego Costume With Flared Pants

For the early-2000s version, wear green flares cut to look low-rise but sitting securely at your natural waist, with a fitted black zip-front top. Add green down one sleeve and the opposite side of the body. A slim belt, narrow sunglasses on the head and mismatched gloves set the era. Chunky black sneakers with green details beat heels. Straight hair with flipped ends and two thin face-framing pieces, frosted green shadow, precise liner and a glossy dark lip. A small green shoulder bag and sheer cuffs. It nods to the period and stays covered and easy to move in.
33. 1980s Shego Costume With Leg Warmers

The 1980s version is pure fun: black stirrup leggings, a green belted leotard over a fitted black shirt, and an asymmetrical cropped jacket. Wear one black and one green leg warmer above high-top sneakers, with mismatched fingerless gloves and a wide green belt. Big brushed waves with a high side section. Bright green shadow, bold liner, strong brows and dark berry lips. Mesh bows at the wrists are a playful glow. Leotards cut high at the leg, so I'd choose one with a lower leg line if you'll be bending.
34. 1990s Shego Costume With Cargo Pants

For the 1990s take, start with loose black cargo pants and a fitted green mock-neck under a cropped black jacket. Add green stripes down one pant leg and across the opposite jacket sleeve. Combat boots, a green webbed belt and mismatched fingerless gloves. Straight hair with small front pieces framing the face. Thin green liner, soft brows and brown-black lipstick fit the decade. Keep to a small belt bag rather than a big prop. Sheer wrist wraps keep the glow without spoiling the relaxed shape.
35. Retro Shego Costume With Go-Go Boots

A colour-blocked green-and-black shift dress with opaque tights and knee-high go-go boots makes a playful retro Shego. Use removable covers to turn one boot green and one black without ruining the shoes. Covers slide down unless they have elastic at the top, so I add a strip inside the top edge. Elbow gloves in opposite colours and a wide green belt at the waist. Smooth volume at the crown and flipped ends, graphic green liner, lashes and a matte dark lip. A small round black bag with a green panel and soft organza at the wrists.
36. Shego Costume With Green Cape

A short green-lined black cape adds movement to the fitted suit. Wear it over a black jumpsuit with angular green panels, and keep the hem above the knee so you don't trip on it. Fasten the cape at the shoulders, not with a tie at the throat; a neck tie pulls back against your windpipe when someone steps on the hem. Add mismatched gloves, a green belt and knee boots with one green cover. Windswept waves, smoky green shadow, arched brows and charcoal lips. Sheer cuffs show when the cape opens, and the green lining flashes every time you turn.
37. Shego Costume With Hooded Bodysuit

A removable hood gives you a stealthy Shego. Choose a fitted black base with green side panels, then add a light black hood lined in green. Attach it with snaps at the neckline so it can come off, and make it deep enough to sit behind your head without dragging the neckline back. Soft mismatched gloves, a slim pouch and flat boots with green ankle sections. Keep the wig flat at the crown so it fits under the hood. Green winged liner, a little contour and dark lips. Sheer wrist fabric or low-profile glow bracelets. Hood up or down, you get two looks from one costume.
38. Shego Costume With High Ponytail

Sweeping the long black wig into a high ponytail changes Shego's usual loose look. A long wig ponytail is heavy, so I anchor it with pins crossed through the wig cap and a wide green tie that takes the weight. Pair it with a black athletic jumpsuit with green on one shoulder, the waist and alternating legs. Add mismatched gloves, a green thigh pouch and flexible boots with green laces. Lift the eye makeup toward the temples with emerald shadow and liner, and finish with charcoal lips. Tulle at the wrists moves with the ponytail in photos.
39. Shego Costume With Natural Hair

You don't have to change or hide your natural hair to be Shego. Wear it loose, in a temporary ponytail, or in curls, coils, braids or locs, whatever's comfortable, and add green clips or cuffs instead of colour. Build the outfit on a fitted black jumpsuit with green asymmetrical panels, mismatched gloves and black boots with one green cover. Green liner, bold brows and a dark lip are strong enough to carry the character. Green skin paint is optional. A belt pouch and soft sheer cuffs finish it. Wearing your own hair makes it feel more like yours.
40. Shego Costume Without Face Paint

You can skip green skin entirely and still be clearly Shego. Put the effort into a strong black-and-neon jumpsuit, long black hair and her dark lip. Blend green shadow around the eyes, add sharp liner and define the brows. One green glove, one black, and mismatched boot covers over black boots. A green hip belt adds one more cue. Sheer green fabric or lit bracelets at the wrists stand in for the powers. You save an hour of prep and don't have to worry about green paint on your collar.
41. Soft Makeup Shego Costume

Soft makeup works well for school events, daytime parties and anyone new to bold makeup. Wear a matte black jumpsuit with green side panels, mismatched gloves, a slim belt and ankle boots with one green cover. Brush the hair into relaxed waves. Swap black lipstick for a deep berry stain, which wears down evenly instead of patchy. Muted green shadow at the lash line, brown-black liner and softly angled brows. A touch of pale green highlight at the temples hints at the skin colour without painting the whole face. Sheer wrist streamers finish it.
42. Miss Go Teacher Costume

Miss Go, the teacher alter ego, is a fitted green blazer, a black knee-length skirt and a high-neck black blouse. Add green tights or subtle green panels on the skirt to keep the palette. Practical loafers or low block-heeled boots, and a folder as a classroom prop. Smooth waves with one side pinned back in a green clip. Soft brows, green liner and deep berry lipstick. Tuck one black and one green glove into the belt and put them on for photos. Sheer wrist cuffs under the blazer sleeves hint at the powers.
43. Team Go Shego Superhero Costume

Team Go Shego is brighter: a mostly green suit with black geometric panels and a simple felt emblem on the chest. Keep the emblem generic, and stitch it on instead of gluing, because glued felt peels off stretch fabric within a few hours. Add green gauntlets edged in black, a comfortable belt and flat boots with green shin covers. A high ponytail or smooth waves kept off the face. Luminous green eyes, defined brows and a softer dark lip read as heroic. A short green cape is optional if it doesn't drag. Sheer wrist effects keep the energy.
44. Future Ruler Shego Costume

Future ruler Shego wears a structured black jumpsuit with metallic green shoulder panels and a long split overskirt. Attach the overskirt at the waist and leave it open at the front, so you can walk and the trousers show. I'd put it on a separate waistband that hooks on, so the jumpsuit stays wearable alone. Tall boots, green gauntlets and a wide geometric belt. Sleek waves with extra height at the crown. Emerald smoky eyes, sculpted brows and a dark satin lip. A light green metallic headband looks cleaner than a crown. Lit cuffs and sheer green fabric for the energy.
45. Formal Shego Costume With Green Gown

For a dressy party, translate the uniform into a fitted black gown with angular green panels through the bodice and skirt. Choose comfortable stretch, a secure neckline and enough room to walk. Long mismatched gloves and black block-heeled shoes, with a green ankle strap on one side to carry the split down. Side-swept waves, emerald shimmer, crisp liner and a black-cherry lip. A narrow green belt and structured black clutch replace the utility gear. Delicate sheer cuffs at the wrists suggest the glow, and the whole thing stays elegant enough for a formal event.
Green Skin Without a Green Collar
Shego's pale green skin is optional, and plenty of versions above skip it. If you do want it, here's the everyday method I trust. I'm not a makeup artist; this is just what holds up for an evening.
- Patch-test the paint on the inside of your wrist the day before. Redness or itching means don't use it on your face.
- Use cosmetic-grade face paint made for skin, not craft paint. A water-activated cake goes on thinner and feels lighter than cream.
- Apply thin layers with a damp sponge. One heavy layer cracks around the mouth as soon as you talk.
- Press translucent setting powder over the top with a puff, then mist lightly. This is what stops transfer.
- Paint down onto the neck and stop at a clean line under a high collar or a choker, so the edge is covered.
Even set paint rubs onto a collar, so I'd keep any white or pale fabric well away from your jaw. At the end of the night, take it off with an oil cleanser or makeup remover before using soap and water. Soap alone tends to smear green around your hairline and leave a tint in your brows.
Get the Split Right and the Rest Follows
Every Shego on this list depends on the same thing: green and black split hard across the body, built in a way that suits your comfort, budget and event. The jumpsuit is the clearest version, and leggings, cargo pants, dresses, tailoring and thrifted tracksuits all get you there too. Long black hair, a dark lip, mismatched gloves and something green at the wrists will make even a simple outfit feel finished. Test makeup, shoes, closures and lights at home before you wear them for hours. Keep props light and make sure you can sit down. Then put on her smirk, which costs nothing.
