Raven is a sewist's character. Strip her back and she's a dark leotard, a hooded cloak, a gold belt with red stones, wrist cuffs, a short violet bob and a jewel on the forehead, and every one of those pieces can be made at a kitchen table. That simple formula is why she adapts so well. Below are versions that stay close to the animated series, closet builds for a busy week, and dressier, armoured, seasonal and themed takes. Each one shows how I'd handle the clothing, hair, makeup, shoes and props, and you can scale any of them to your sewing skill, the coverage you like, the event and the budget.

Drafting Raven's Hooded Cloak From One Circle of Fabric
The cloak is the piece that turns any dark outfit into Raven, and it's simpler than it looks. I cut it as a half or full circle with a hole for the neck, then add the hood. A full circle gives the big swirl from the animation; a half circle uses less fabric and hangs straighter, which suits the modest, winter and realistic versions.
- Measure from the back of your neck to where you want the hem, usually mid-calf. That's the radius of your circle, plus a little for the hem.
- Fold the fabric in quarters, mark a small neck curve at the folded corner and a large curve at the hem length, and cut both curves through all layers.
- Draft the hood from an existing hoodie: trace its hood, then extend the top into a point and add a few centimetres to the front edge so it shades the face.
- Interface or line the hood. An unlined hood in thin fabric collapses flat against the head and loses the pointed shape.
- Close the front with a hook and bar or strong snaps hidden under the gem brooch, rather than relying on the brooch pin, which tears the fabric under the weight.
For fabric, a medium-weight crepe, gabardine or velvet hangs well, while satin looks shiny and cheap under flash. Polyester crepe doesn't fray much, so a narrow hem or an overlocked edge is enough. Hem it to clear the floor in the boots you'll wear; a cloak that drags gets trodden on by everyone behind you.
1. Classic Animated Raven Cosplay

The classic animated Raven is the one I'd hand a beginner, because the sewing is mostly one cloak. Start with a long-sleeve black leotard over opaque grey tights, or a fitted black top with dance shorts if you want more coverage. The deep purple hooded cloak should end at mid-calf, which keeps it off the floor on stairs. Purple ankle boots and wide purple wrist cuffs repeat the colour. A gold belt set with light red gems is the signature, and a short violet bob wig with smooth bangs and a slight widow's peak gives her head. Cool grey face makeup, a plum lip and a small red forehead gem finish her, with a painted foam orb in hand.
2. Classic Comic Raven Cosplay

The comic Raven wears more fabric, and I'd use a heavier drape for her cloak so it swings rather than floats. Wear a fitted black full-sleeve bodysuit, opaque charcoal tights and black ankle boots, then build around a voluminous royal blue or blue-purple cloak with a pointed hood and an asymmetric opening. Circular red gems go on a gold waist chain, matching wrist cuffs and a large brooch at the cloak. A straight shoulder-length black wig with violet highlights reads as comic rather than cartoon. Natural or lightly cool skin, purple shadow and defined brows with the forehead jewel. A small round communicator or fabric-covered spell book works for poses.
3. White Raven Cosplay

White Raven keeps the familiar outline in a pale colourway. A white long-sleeve bodysuit or unitard goes over opaque white or pale grey tights, and the floor-skimming hooded cloak can be satin, velvet or a light crepe. I'd pick crepe or velvet, since white satin shows every crease and every mark from a busy room. White ankle boots keep the colour unbroken, while the gold belt with red acrylic gems adds contrast. A sleek white bob wig with faint lavender roots gives depth. Luminous makeup with pearl shadow, cool contour, a berry lip and the red forehead jewel. White cuffs and a translucent orb finish her, and she stands out in a group.
4. Red Raven Cosplay

Red Raven swaps the purple for burgundy and scarlet. Begin with a fitted burgundy bodysuit, opaque crimson tights and dark red ankle boots with stable block heels, then add a long scarlet hooded cloak. Black metal-look cuffs and a black belt with deep red gems replace the gold. A short wine-purple wig with a slightly pointed front hairline links her back to the original. Soft grey skin, red-plum shadow, crisp liner and a bright forehead gem. A translucent red energy disc or light glowing orb keeps the prop friendly. Red on red can look flat in photos, so I vary the shades between bodysuit, tights and cloak on purpose.
5. Rachel Roth Casual Cosplay

Rachel Roth, Raven out of uniform, is my pick for an all-day convention because there's nothing to adjust. A black fitted T-shirt with charcoal skinny jeans or stretch leggings, an oversized purple zip-up hoodie and black lace-up combat boots make the outfit. A short violet wig works, or a washable purple hair wax on dark hair. Smoky lavender shadow, a muted berry lip and a tiny red forehead gem keep the face simple. A red gemstone pendant and purple wristbands are the details people spot. Carry a paperback with a plain handmade cover. It's cheap, modest and nearly all from the wardrobe.
6. Teen Titans Go Raven Cosplay

Teen Titans Go! Raven is all about proportion: bigger hood, bigger gems, simpler shapes. Use a plain black long-sleeve leotard over smooth light grey tights and add an oversized bright purple cloak with a generous pointed hood. Rounded purple shoe covers or flat purple boots suit the cartoon. I cut the belt gems from red craft foam circles on a flexible gold band, and make the cuffs oversized to match. A neat violet bob with soft, rounded bangs. Pale grey makeup, simple purple shadow and a centred red jewel. An exaggerated foam orb or big cardboard communicator is the prop, and the oversized pieces show up well on camera.
7. Modern Superhero Raven Cosplay

The modern superhero version swaps fabric layers for athletic pieces. Wear a matte black compression jumpsuit with subtle purple side panels, knee-high black boots, fingerless purple gloves and a cropped hooded cape that won't get underfoot. A fitted utility belt with red resin gems carries the signature without bulk. A chin-length violet wig with textured ends and side-swept bangs suits it, with natural skin, a cool smoky eye and plum lips. Shoulder panels can be shaped from EVA foam with a heat gun and painted satin black; seal the foam first or the paint soaks in and looks patchy. A translucent purple orb finishes her.
8. Gothic Raven Cosplay

Gothic Raven is about texture, so I mix velvet and lace rather than relying on one black fabric. Start with a high-neck black velvet dress just above the knee and opaque charcoal tights, then layer a deep purple hooded cape trimmed with black lace. Black platform ankle boots, purple cuffs and the gold gemstone belt keep her recognisable. A wavy violet-black bob reads more gothic than a straight one. Cool foundation, smoky plum shadow, winged liner, a dark berry lip and the red forehead gem. Carry a small book or a fabric black rose rather than anything ritualistic, and she stays suitable for public events.
9. Punk Raven Cosplay

Punk Raven trades the cloak for streetwear and hardware. Wear a black fitted mock-neck with purple plaid trousers, or a black skater skirt over opaque ripped-look tights, plus a cropped purple hooded jacket and black combat boots with violet laces. A loose hip belt of red acrylic gems and light silver chains replaces the gold one. A choppy purple bob with darker roots gives the attitude. Smudged plum liner, cool blush and a black-cherry lip, with the small red jewel. Fingerless gloves and clip-on ear cuffs add punk without burying the character. A foam guitar prop is fun; an energy orb is easier to travel with.
10. Glam Raven Cosplay

Glam Raven uses shine but keeps her reserved. Choose a black long-sleeve velvet jumpsuit with a subtle sparkle and a fitted waist, a rich purple satin cape with a structured hood and jewel clasp, and sleek black knee-high boots with comfortable block heels. A gold chain belt with faceted ruby-coloured stones moves and catches the light. A glossy violet bob with softly curled ends. Luminous cool makeup, metallic lavender shadow, defined lashes, a berry gloss and a polished forehead jewel. Gold cuffs and a clear orb filled with purple iridescent film finish her. Interfacing in the hood keeps satin from collapsing, which is the detail I'd never skip.
11. Plus Size Raven Cosplay

For a plus-size Raven, the cape fit across the shoulders matters most, because a cape cut too narrow pulls the hood back off the head. Begin with a black stretch jumpsuit or long-sleeve skater dress over opaque grey tights, and choose a purple hooded cape that sits comfortably across the shoulders and falls in a clean A-line. Wide purple cuffs and a flexible gold belt with evenly spaced red gems define the costume. Supportive black or purple ankle boots beat narrow costume shoes. A smooth violet bob frames the face, with cool contour, plum shadow, a berry lip and the red gem. An orb with a wrist loop leaves your hands free.
12. Modest Raven Cosplay

A modest Raven can be completely accurate, since the character is already mostly covered by her cloak. Wear a high-neck black tunic over straight black trousers, or a full-length fitted jumpsuit, with opaque grey sleeves underneath if you want more coverage. A long purple hooded cloak closes at the neck with a red gem brooch. Flat purple boots and wide cuffs sit over the sleeves. A shoulder-length violet wig tucks neatly into the hood. Soft makeup with cool foundation, lavender shadow, a plum lip and a small forehead jewel. The gold gemstone belt over the tunic keeps her accurate, and a translucent orb held at the waist finishes her.
13. Easy DIY Raven Cosplay

The easy DIY Raven needs almost no sewing. A plain black long-sleeve shirt with black shorts over grey leggings looks like a bodysuit from a distance. A purple hooded blanket or thrifted cape becomes the cloak; I trim it to mid-calf and run a quick line of fray stopper along the cut edge rather than hemming. Purple rain boots, or black boots under removable purple fabric covers, handle the feet. Cuffs and belt settings come from painted craft foam, with red plastic gems on hook-and-loop dots so they can come off. A short purple wig, grey-toned makeup, a plum lip and the forehead gem. A foam ball painted matte black is the orb.
14. Last Minute Raven Cosplay

The last-minute Raven is mostly a hoodie with the hood up, which is her defining outline anyway. Wear a black turtleneck, black leggings and comfortable black boots under an oversized purple hoodie. Tie a gold chain or metallic ribbon at the waist and attach red paper circles or cheap plastic gems. Purple sweatbands stand in for cuffs. Without a wig, smooth natural hair into a bob shape or spray the ends with temporary violet colour. Smoky purple shadow, a berry lip and a red adhesive jewel on the forehead. A black foam ball or purple-covered book in hand, and you're done in an evening with no face paint or special shoes.
15. Closet Raven Cosplay

The closet Raven is the one to build if you want to wear the pieces again. A black fitted sweater, charcoal mini skirt, opaque grey tights and black ankle boots make the base, with a long purple cardigan or hooded coat suggesting the cape. A thin gold belt with red costume gems and stacked purple bracelets at each wrist finish the accessories. A purple bob wig, or violet clip-ins in dark hair, sits on top. Soft grey shadow, plum liner, a berry lip and the forehead jewel. A round black handbag works as a practical orb. I like this one for travel, because everything packs flat and nothing is costume-only.
16. Raven Cosplay With Pants

Raven in trousers moves better and stays warmer than the leotard version. Wear a fitted black long-sleeve top with high-waisted charcoal trousers, slim cargo trousers or stretch ponte leggings, and add a structured purple hooded cape cut to the knee. Purple ankle boots, matching cuffs and the gold red-gem belt keep the colours familiar. A smooth violet bob with slightly longer front pieces. Cool-toned foundation if you like, a purple smoky eye, a berry lip and the small red jewel. A black utility pouch on the belt holds your phone, and a light purple energy disc is the prop. Ponte holds its shape better than jersey leggings here.
17. Raven Cosplay With Skirt

Raven with a skirt softens her outline while keeping the moody colours. Pair a fitted black long-sleeve bodysuit with a charcoal or black skater skirt over opaque grey tights, and put the flexible gold gemstone belt at the natural waist. A knee-length purple hooded cape and flat ankle boots in matching purple. A short violet wig with smooth bangs keeps her recognisable. Use cool grey contour rather than heavy full-face colour, then lavender shadow, dark liner, a berry lip and the red gem. Purple cuffs and a gem cape clasp, plus a small black orb handbag. A circle skirt gives the most swing in photos and still sits flat when you sit down.
18. Raven Cosplay With Dress

A black long-sleeve dress gives Raven a one-piece base, which means one less layer to keep tucked in all day. Choose a fitted mini or knee-length dress with a high neckline over opaque grey tights, then wrap the gold belt with large red gems at the waist and add wide purple cuffs. I'd let the purple hooded cloak end slightly below the dress hem so the proportions balance. Purple ankle boots with cushioned soles. A chin-length violet wig with sleek ends and a defined centre point at the hairline. Cool contour, plum shadow, black liner, a muted berry lip and the forehead jewel, with a foam crystal or translucent orb.
19. Armored Raven Cosplay

Armoured Raven is the most construction-heavy look here, and EVA foam is the material I'd use for every piece. Begin with a matte black long-sleeve jumpsuit and fitted black boots, then cut purple chest panels, shoulder pieces, wrist guards and shin armour from foam, sanding or heat-sealing the edges so nothing scratches. A shorter split cape goes under a structured pointed hood, and a metallic gold belt with raised red resin gems is the focal point. A textured violet bob balances the angles. Precise makeup with cool contour, deep purple shadow, sharp liner and a plum lip. A round purple shield-style energy prop beats a weapon, and elastic straps let you sit.
20. Fantasy Armor Raven Cosplay

Fantasy armour Raven mixes medieval shapes with her gem palette. Wear a black fitted tunic over charcoal leggings and flat black knee-high boots, with a flexible purple corset-style waist piece on top. Shoulder guards, bracers and a decorative collar in lightweight foam painted antique silver give the armour; a dark wash wiped back over the silver makes it look aged. A long purple hooded cape adds movement, with red faux gems on a gold hip chain and the cloak clasp. A long violet wig in loose waves with two small side braids. Lavender shadow, a berry lip, cool highlight and the forehead jewel, plus a crystal prop or decorative shield.
21. Medieval Raven Cosplay

Medieval Raven uses natural-looking fabric for a storybook feel. Start with a long black bell-sleeve gown with a fitted waist and modest neckline, then add a deep purple hooded mantle that reaches the ankles without touching the ground. A braided gold girdle set with red stones replaces the superhero belt. Flat black lace-up boots go under the gown. A long dark violet wig with narrow braids around the crown. Pale cool skin, softly smoked purple eyes, berry lips and the red forehead jewel. Purple bracers with simple embossed patterns and a light crystal or aged-looking book finish her. Linen-look cotton is cooler than velvet for an outdoor festival.
22. Royal Raven Cosplay

Royal Raven turns her into a queen with jewel tones and a longer line. Choose a floor-length black velvet gown with a fitted bodice, long sleeves and a gently flared skirt, and layer a purple satin cloak lined in lighter lavender, fastened with a large ruby-coloured brooch. A delicate gold belt with hanging red gems marks the waist. Black pointed flats or low boots keep walking safe. A long violet wig in loose waves under a slim gold gem circlet. Luminous cool makeup, plum shadow, crisp liner, a berry lip and the forehead jewel. Ornate gold cuffs and a translucent purple orb finish her. A lined cloak hangs heavier and swings better, which is worth the extra fabric.
23. Princess Raven Cosplay

Princess Raven is the softer take, built around a full skirt that still lets you walk. Wear a black fitted bodice with long sheer-look sleeves over a layered purple tulle skirt to mid-calf, plus opaque grey tights and purple ballet flats or low ankle boots. A short hooded cape keeps the hero reference without hiding the dress. A gold waist belt with large red gems and matching cuffs. A violet bob with a small gem tiara set behind the forehead jewel. Lavender shimmer, defined lashes, plum-rose cheeks and a berry lip. A clear orb or small round bag. She's family-friendly and slots easily into a princess group.
24. Victorian Raven Cosplay

Victorian Raven combines tailoring, layered skirts and her purple accessories. Select a high-neck black blouse with puffed sleeves and a long black walking skirt, then add a purple underbust waistcoat and a matching hooded capelet. Black button boots look period and stay practical. Red gems on a gold chain belt drape across the waist. A wavy dark violet wig in a low bun with soft face-framing pieces. Cool foundation, smoky plum shadow, a berry lip and the small forehead jewel. Purple gloves and a decorative round bag, plus a vintage-looking book as the prop. A capelet is far quicker to sew than a full cloak, which makes this a good weekend build.
25. Steampunk Raven Cosplay

Steampunk Raven adds mechanical texture, and the trick is keeping it in two places. Wear a black high-neck blouse with fitted charcoal trousers or a knee-length bustle skirt over opaque tights, plus a purple brocade vest, a cropped hooded cape and black lace-up boots. Build the belt from antique-gold plastic gears, red acrylic gems and a wide brown or black band, with purple leather-look bracers at the wrists. A violet bob under a mini top hat with goggles and a red gem. Bronze-purple shadow, winged liner, a muted berry lip and the forehead jewel. A gear-covered orb with no sharp edges. Concentrating the gears on the belt and prop stops it looking cluttered.
26. Cyberpunk Raven Cosplay

Cyberpunk Raven trades the cloak for tech fabric and neon. Start with a black fitted utility jumpsuit with reflective purple piping down the arms and legs, black platform sneakers or combat boots with purple laces, and a cropped hooded jacket with detachable translucent purple back panels in place of a cape. A black utility belt with red gems keeps the waist detail. An angular violet bob with darker roots. Metallic lavender shadow, graphic liner, a berry lip and a jewel with a glow effect from cosmetic-safe products. Fingerless tech gloves, and a clear orb wrapped in battery micro-lights; I tape the battery pack inside where it can't overheat against skin.
27. Futuristic Raven Cosplay

Futuristic Raven relies on smooth surfaces and clean geometry rather than lots of detail. Wear a fitted black-and-charcoal jumpsuit with symmetrical purple panels at the shoulders, waist and calves, with sleek black boots and moulded purple shin covers. A structured purple hood and split shoulder cape keep the line tidy. The belt is a flexible metallic band with evenly spaced faceted red gems. A sharp chin-length lavender wig. Silver-purple shadow, fine liner, cool highlight, berry lips and a polished jewel. Moulded wrist guards and a translucent energy disc finish her. I mark every panel line with chalk on the body before cutting, because these only work when the lines run straight.
28. Space Raven Cosplay

Space Raven adds a starfield without changing her shape. Choose a black long-sleeve unitard printed or painted with faint violet stars and silver speckles; fabric paint flicked from a stiff brush gives random stars quickly. A midnight-purple hooded cape with a soft galaxy print inside the lining, metallic black ankle boots and wide purple cuffs edged in silver. The gold belt with deep red gems stays. A short violet wig with tiny silver clips placed like constellations. Lavender shimmer, cool contour, a berry lip, the red jewel and a few small stars by the temples. A clear orb filled with iridescent film and tiny lights is the prop.
29. Celestial Raven Cosplay

Celestial Raven uses moon and stars while keeping the purple outline. Wear a fitted black maxi dress or long jumpsuit with silver constellation embroidery around the neckline, a lavender-to-purple ombré hooded cloak and comfortable black ankle boots. A silver belt with red and violet faux gems replaces the gold. A long dark purple wig in loose waves with a small crescent clip behind the forehead jewel. Pearl-lavender shadow, cool highlight, a deep berry lip and tiny silver dots around the eyes. Silver cuffs and a clear moon-shaped prop finish her. Ombré is easiest if you buy two shades of chiffon and layer them rather than dyeing a gradient.
30. Galaxy Raven Cosplay

Galaxy Raven goes bolder than the space version, with colour across the body. Start with a black stretch bodysuit or jumpsuit with airbrushed purple, blue and magenta nebula patterns on the torso and sleeves, plus opaque charcoal tights with a bodysuit and purple ankle boots. A dark violet hooded cape lined in star print gives a reveal when it opens. The gold belt and cuffs get bright red gems. A layered violet wig with blue-tinted ends. Purple and navy eyeshadow, a few white star dots, a berry lip and the jewel. A clear orb filled with coloured cellophane. Keep the nebula to the torso and sleeves so it doesn't read as noise.
31. Anime Raven Cosplay

Anime Raven exaggerates the shapes so she reads like a drawing in photos. Wear a fitted black long-sleeve dress or bodysuit over smooth grey tights, with a bright violet cape that has a very large pointed hood and a clean angular hem. Tall flat purple boots and oversized gold cuffs. The belt carries big, evenly spaced red foam gems. A fluffy violet bob with layered ends, full bangs and two longer face-framing pieces. Pale cool makeup, a bigger purple eye, defined lashes, a soft berry lip and a bright jewel. An oversized black-and-purple foam orb. I wire the hood's point with a length of millinery wire so it holds the drawn shape.
32. Chibi Raven Cosplay

Chibi Raven rounds everything off for a cute take. Begin with a black long-sleeve skater dress, opaque grey tights and purple ankle boots, then add a short bright purple cloak with a large rounded hood and a soft scalloped hem. An oversized gold belt with light red foam circles and wide matching cuffs. A fluffy violet bob with curved bangs and curled ends. Simple makeup: pale base, lavender shadow, rosy blush, a berry tint and a large skin-safe adhesive forehead gem. A plush black orb sewn from felt with purple highlights. The soft materials and flat shoes make her comfortable for long days and family events.
33. Cartoon Raven Cosplay

Cartoon Raven is about clean lines and flat colour. Wear a plain black mock-neck bodysuit, or a fitted top with black shorts, over opaque light grey tights, and add a vivid blue-purple hooded cloak cut in a simple straight shape. Flat purple boots, solid cuffs and a bright yellow-gold belt with round red gems make the base. A smooth, sharp violet bob with no realistic highlights. Even cool grey makeup, matte purple shadow, black liner, a muted plum lip and a centred red gem. A flat foam energy disc outlined in purple. I'd choose matte cotton or broadcloth over anything shiny or textured, since sheen breaks up the flat cartoon colour.
34. Realistic Raven Cosplay

Realistic Raven reimagines the uniform in clothes that look lived in. Start with a fitted black tactical jumpsuit or a performance top with matching trousers, plus a heavy purple cloak with a lined hood, hidden pockets and a secure gem clasp. Broken-in black combat boots and leather-look wrist guards. The belt is antique gold links with dark red resin stones. A muted violet-black bob with soft layers rather than bright colour. Natural skin, a smoky aubergine eye, soft contour, a berry lip and a small jewel. A clear smoky orb or round communicator. Heavy cotton twill takes a weathered finish well, and a light sanding at the edges does the rest.
35. Raven Cosplay With Long Hair

Raven with long hair looks graceful, but long wigs and hoods fight each other. Wear a black fitted jumpsuit or long-sleeve dress over opaque grey tights, with a floor-length purple hooded cloak, purple ankle boots, wide cuffs and the gold red-gem belt. Choose a waist-length violet wig with soft layers and a smooth crown so it fits under the hood. Two narrow front braids keep strands off the forehead jewel. Cool contour, smoky lavender shadow, a berry lip and defined brows. A light orb or crystal prop. For full-length photos I sweep most of the hair over one shoulder so the clasp, belt and bodice stay visible.
36. Raven Cosplay With Curly Hair

Raven with curly hair gets a softer, more approachable finish. Build the costume from a fitted black long-sleeve top, black shorts or a skirt and opaque grey tights, with a rich purple hooded cape, matching ankle boots, wide cuffs and the gold belt with red gems. A short violet curly wig works, or natural curls with a temporary purple colour made for hair. Keep the curls shaped away from the centre of the forehead so the jewel shows. Cool neutral foundation, plum shadow, black liner and a berry lip. A smooth black orb contrasts with the texture. I'd cut the hood roomier than usual so curls don't flatten or tangle.
37. Raven Cosplay With Braids

Braids keep a long Raven wig under control, which helps on a windy day or a dance floor. Wear a black long-sleeve jumpsuit with purple ankle boots and a knee-length hooded cape, then add the gold belt with red gems and structured purple cuffs. Style a dark violet wig in two long braids, or a crown braid feeding into one low braid, leaving a small centre section smooth to show the forehead jewel. Cool contour, smoky violet shadow, precise liner and a muted berry lip. A few removable gold cuffs threaded onto the braids tie in with the belt. A translucent purple orb finishes her.
38. Lavender Raven Cosplay

Lavender Raven lightens the whole palette, and the risk is losing her contrast. Choose a fitted charcoal bodysuit or jumpsuit instead of black, with pale grey tights if needed, and layer a soft lavender hooded cape with a darker purple lining. Lavender ankle boots and silver cuffs set with red gems, plus a silver belt with ruby-coloured stones that shows clearly against the lighter fabric. A pastel lavender bob with smooth bangs. Luminous makeup, lilac shadow, cool pink blush, a berry lip and the red jewel. A clear orb with lavender iridescent film. I keep the darker tones at the bodice and lining so she still reads as Raven.
39. Black And Purple Raven Cosplay

Black and purple Raven is the easiest colourway to coordinate. Wear a matte black long-sleeve jumpsuit with purple panels along the shoulders and outer legs, and a black hooded cape lined in vivid violet that shows when you move. Black combat boots, purple gloves and the gold belt with deep red gems. A short purple-black bob ties both colours together without being too bright. A natural or softly cool base, a black-to-purple smoky eye, a plum lip and the forehead jewel. A black orb painted with a purple spiral. Repeating violet in the lining, gloves, hair and leg panels holds the look together from every side.
40. Blue Raven Cosplay

Blue Raven nods to the dark blue cloak she wears in a lot of the animation. Start with a fitted midnight-blue bodysuit or long-sleeve jumpsuit and opaque slate tights, then add a royal blue hooded cloak with violet lining to keep a link to purple. Dark blue ankle boots and wide silver-blue cuffs. The belt is silver chain with red gems, which stand out sharply on blue. A short blue-violet wig with smooth tapered ends. Cool foundation, navy and lavender shadow, black liner, a berry lip and a centred red jewel. A translucent blue orb or energy disc. Mixing two or three blues stops it looking like one flat block.
41. Silver Raven Cosplay

Silver Raven goes metallic and futuristic. Wear a charcoal-black fitted jumpsuit with silver piping and matte purple waist panels, plus a silver-grey hooded cape lined in deep violet satin. Black ankle boots with light silver shin covers and matching sculpted wrist guards. A flexible silver band with red faceted gems replaces the gold belt. A cool lavender bob suits the metallic palette. Pearl-grey shadow, sharp purple liner, cool highlight, a berry lip and the jewel. A clear orb with silver and violet reflective film. I balance metallic fabric with matte panels, because a full metallic suit flares white under flash and loses its shape.
42. Gold Raven Cosplay

Gold Raven celebrates with warm metal while keeping purple as the main colour. Choose a black velvet jumpsuit or long-sleeve dress under a deep purple hooded cape edged in narrow gold trim. Black boots with removable gold ankle cuffs. A broad gold belt with red gemstones, matching gold wrist guards and a gem clasp. A glossy violet bob with a clean structured shape. Soft gold and plum shadow, defined liner, cool contour, a berry lip and the red jewel. A translucent purple orb in a decorative gold frame. Keep the gold to the borders and accessories; a gold cape would turn her into a different character.
43. Winter Raven Cosplay

Winter Raven is the version I'd build for an outdoor event in the cold. Wear a black thermal turtleneck with fleece-lined charcoal leggings and insulated black boots, then a fitted purple sweater dress or long tunic, with a heavy hooded cape over everything. Line the cape with fleece and it doubles as a blanket. A flexible gold belt with red gems defines the waist without squashing the layers. Purple knit wrist warmers or cuffs over gloves. A shoulder-length violet wig fits better under a roomy lined hood. Cool makeup with waterproof plum shadow and a berry lip, and a jewel on skin-safe adhesive. A round hand warmer can hide inside the orb.
44. Summer Raven Cosplay

Summer Raven strips out weight and heat. Start with a black moisture-wicking short-sleeve unitard, or a fitted top with black bike shorts, and add grey tights only if the temperature allows. Choose a sheer-look purple cape with a short hood and knee-length hem; skip velvet entirely. Ventilated purple sneakers or flat ankle boots. Make the belt and cuffs from light foam instead of metal. A short violet wig on a breathable cap. Long-wear lavender shadow, a berry lip stain, minimal cool contour and a small jewel. A hollow foam orb. Chiffon or georgette for the cape moves well in a breeze and dries fast if you sweat.
45. Festival Raven Cosplay

Festival Raven is built for walking and dancing in a crowd. Wear a black fitted crop-length top over a full-coverage black bodysuit with high-waisted purple wide-leg trousers, plus a short hooded capelet that can't catch underfoot. Comfortable black platform sneakers give height without narrow heels. A gold hip belt with light red gems and purple tassels, and matching cuffs. A violet bob with two tiny side braids and silver clips. Lavender shimmer, graphic purple liner, a berry lip and the forehead jewel. A small round crossbody bag stands in for the orb. I stitch every gem as well as gluing it, because dancing shakes glued pieces loose.
46. Formal Raven Cosplay

Formal Raven turns her colours into occasion wear. Choose a floor-length black gown with long sleeves, a fitted waist and a modest side slit for walking, under a deep purple velvet cape with a structured hood and jewelled clasp. Black block-heel boots hide under the skirt; hem the gown so it clears the floor in those boots. A narrow gold belt with red stones gives the waist detail. A sleek violet bob, or a polished low bun in violet-coloured hair. Luminous foundation, a plum smoky eye, a berry lip and a refined jewel. Gold cuffs and a round black evening bag finish her for a costume gala or cosplay ball.
47. Raven Cosplay Ball Gown

The Raven ball gown is the most dramatic version here, and a light skirt keeps it wearable. Wear a fitted black velvet bodice with long sleeves and a layered purple organza skirt over a soft petticoat. A hooded purple cape that ends at the waist shows off the gown's shape. A gold belt with oversized red gems marks the bodice-skirt join. Black low-heeled boots give stability. A long violet wig in smooth waves, pinned back from the forehead jewel. Plum shimmer, winged liner, cool blush and a berry lip. A clear orb or round gem handbag. Organza is crisp and light, so three layers give volume without the weight of satin.
48. Raven Cosplay Bodysuit

A bodysuit Raven keeps the focus on colour blocking and accessories, so the bodysuit has to fit well. Choose a long-sleeve black unitard in opaque, supportive stretch fabric, with grey dance tights underneath or grey leg panels built into the suit. A purple hooded cape to mid-calf, purple ankle boots and wide cuffs. Red resin gems on a flexible gold belt, each one sitting flat. A short violet bob with smooth bangs. Cool foundation, matte purple shadow, defined liner, a berry lip and the red jewel. A light black orb. I do a full sit, bend and walk test in the suit before the event, since a bodysuit that shifts is miserable all day.
49. Raven Cosplay Hoodie Outfit

The hoodie Raven is the understated option for casual conventions or school-friendly events. Wear a black long-sleeve T-shirt, charcoal joggers or leggings and purple high-tops under an oversized deep purple hoodie with a pointed or extended hood. If your hoodie's hood is rounded, a triangle of matching fleece stitched into the top seam gives it the point. Wrap a simple gold gem belt loosely at the hips, or stick removable red gem patches on the pockets. Purple wristbands echo the cuffs. A chin-length violet wig left relaxed. Smoky lavender shadow, a berry lip balm and a small forehead jewel. A round black backpack is the orb.
50. Deluxe Raven Cosplay

Deluxe Raven is about finish rather than extra ideas. Begin with a custom-fitted matte black jumpsuit with subtle charcoal panels, a fully lined purple velvet cloak with a sculpted hood, hidden pockets and an asymmetric front, matching leather-look boots and moulded purple wrist guards. The gold belt is built from light linked sections, each set with a faceted red resin gem. A professionally styled violet bob with a precise hairline. Layered cool makeup with plum shadow, crisp liner, a berry lip and a polished jewel, plus an illuminated translucent orb. Strong closures, secure attachments and clean seam finishes, such as bound or overlocked edges inside the cloak, are what hold up under close inspection.
Gems, Belt Discs and the Forehead Jewel That Stay Attached
Raven's red stones are on her belt, her cloak clasp, her cuffs and her forehead, so a costume can lose a lot of them over a long day. Most losses come from the wrong glue for the surface.
- On foam or rigid plastic, use a contact cement or a strong craft adhesive and let it cure fully. Hot glue holds at first, then pops off once the costume gets cold or flexes.
- On fabric, sew-on gems with holes or claw settings are far more secure than flat-back gems glued to stretch fabric, which lift as the fabric moves.
- For the belt, I glue each gem into a shallow foam or plastic setting first, then attach the setting to the band. It's easier to replace one setting than to reglue a gem to a bending strap.
- For the forehead, use a gem made for skin and a skin-safe lash or spirit-gum-type adhesive, patch-tested first. Craft glue on skin is a bad idea.
- Carry two spare gems and a small tube of adhesive in your bag.
Grey Skin That Doesn't End Up on the Hood
The grey complexion is optional, and many of the versions above skip it entirely. If you want it, a light cream or water-activated face colour gives the cool tone. I'm a sewist, not a makeup artist, so my advice is the everyday basics: test it on the inside of your wrist a day ahead, apply thin layers with a damp sponge, and press translucent setting powder over it so it doesn't rub off on the inside of the hood and collar.
Grey easily turns ashy rather than cool, so blending a little lavender or blue into the grey keeps it closer to the character. Take it off at the end of the night with an oil-based cleanser before washing, and wash the hood lining after wear, since some colour always transfers to the fabric nearest the face.
Hood Up, Gem On, and Out the Door
Raven adapts because her outline is so strong: a hood, a purple palette, a gemstone belt, violet hair and a dark base. Stay close to the animated look, wear a closet version, or go elaborate with a fantasy, futuristic, royal or armoured build. Whichever you pick, put breathable layers, secure gems, supportive shoes and a cape that clears the floor first. The makeup can stay light, since the jewel, the hair and the hood already do the recognising. Wear the whole costume at home before the event, sitting and walking in every layer, and choose the version that fits your comfort, skill and budget.
